Premarital and Pre-Partnership Counseling

Start the conversation before the big event.

If you are about to get married, thinking of getting married, or just got engaged – congratulations!

As you prepare to live your life together, it is helpful for you to set some time aside for premarital counseling sessions to have conversations about values, wants, needs, and plans. Those conversations will help you have a smoother transition from unmarried/unpartnered life to married/partnered life.

Prepare and Enrich

In premarital and pre-partnership sessions, I use an assessment tool called Prepare and Enrich, a quiz (set of questions) that each person answers separately, allowing me to understand your relational strengths and areas for growth.

By reviewing the assessment, we will talk about your family histories and how they demonstrated their marriage or partnership to you while growing up. We will dive deep to understand what marriage or partnerships mean to each of you and what you expect from each other in various aspects (intellectual, financial, sexual, spiritual, familial, health, etc.).

The assessment results will educate us on where the relational dynamics of your partnership stand and how to go about having conversations to solidify the connection and start working toward growth, better communication, and more understanding.

Protect and grow your asset

Your love relationship is a precious asset, one that can sustain you and add untold meaning to your life and legacy.

Investing in keeping it that way is one of the wisest things you can do.

And it is FAR easier to learn new skills and habits when you are in a good place together, rather than in crisis or under stress.

Make the most of your relationship – together

Get ready. Together, we’re going to do some challenging, but ultimately rewarding work:

Our objective is for both of you to get to know one another more deeply and build a strong foundation as you transition to married or partnership life together with the hope of minimizing future relational obstacles, surprises, or blind spots.

Please reach out to me. I am here to help prepare you for the important next step in your relationship.
