Being single is a struggle.

If you just ended a relationship, are going through a divorce, or have been single for some time and feel lonely and unhappy, the struggle is real.

Sitting with the pain of losing your relationship and/or imagining how your life would be better if you had a partner makes you feel lonely and sad. Looking through social media and seeing all the people on those posts happy and fulfilled next to their romantic partner/s makes you feel abnormal as if happiness is not for you.

While spending hours of your day fantasizing over a perfect life with the ideal partner, you wake up from this fantasy and land in your room alone, sad, hopeless, and without dreams.

As Jennifer Taitz advises in her book, “Don’t let yourself wander away from the freedom that comes from experiencing reality at this moment.” Even if your current reality is not the one that you wished for, learning to embrace it and fully live in it will allow you to see and utilize its advantages to your benefit.

We need to shift our perspective. Being single can be a blessing in disguise. This time in your life can be an opportunity to focus on your self-growth and self-care! During this time, you can reset your personal goals, learn how to build boundaries, and become attuned to your needs and wants.

Being comfortable with your singleness will allow you to set goals and honestly question and decide what your non-negotiables are and what qualities in a partner you want – the qualities most compatible with you and the life you want to build.

Being comfortable with who you are and where you are in life will make you feel more fulfilled, create a strong identity, find your voice, and be more comfortable with who you are.

Having this comfort allows you to unapologetically be yourself and be open to the possibility of a romantic connection that best matches who you are!

This is how Group Therapy Can help!

Being in group therapy will show you that you are not alone, not abnormal, and that many people struggle with the “I am alone” disease/mindset. The input of other people in a similar situation will help you not feel alone.

The reality is that you are not alone! Listening to the struggles of others and how they cope can shine a positive light on your journey. Having interconnection and depending on others allows us to grow!

All you need to get started is…

…a curious mindset, the book by Jennifer L. Taitz entitled “How to be Single and Happy.” In addition, you will need a computer with a microphone and a camera and a private, quiet space in your home or office.

Our group sessions meet on Zoom (telehealth) once weekly for 8 weeks. Each session is 1.5 hours, and the cost is $75 per session or less depending on how many people are in the group.

Our group consists of 3 to 5 people to keep it small and intimate so each person can talk and get the most from our work. The beginning of the next group depends on the availability of group members.
