Telehealth is a great option.
During COVID, telehealth became necessary to protect our physical health. Before I started providing therapy services via Zoom, I was skeptical and unsure if therapy would be as effective online as it is in person.
After doing telehealth for two years now, the experience has proven me wrong. Many studies have shown that online therapy is as effective as in-person therapy when treating non-major conditions like depression, anxiety, life transitions, grieving, and finding your voice.
I have seen various clients, including couples, via Zoom. They have shared with me that they benefited from online therapy. After trying online therapy, some clients prefer in-person therapy. If this is the case for you, I am happy to comply if you decide to receive in-person therapy.
My experience and many other colleagues’ experience providing telehealth have resulted in positive results for both therapists and clients. Even though we are not in the same room when therapy occurs, you can hear and see me as if we were in person when doing therapy via Zoom.
Telehealth does have a few requirements.
Clients must be within the State of California during the time of therapy for me to provide telehealth.
It is advantageous for therapy to take place in a quiet room where you have the privacy to experience the feelings that you need to feel. You must be in a comfortable space free from disturbances. I will do the same.
I can assure you that I take care of your confidentiality and will be the only one to hear you on my side of the screen. I will be in a quiet, private office.
A strong Internet connection is essential because, “I don’t want to miss a thing,” as the song goes 🎶 😉 I need to catch everything you say, and I want to see your face as you display emotions so that I can attune to your needs and be present with you “in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health,” lol. I’m kidding, but you get the point.
Online therapy is convenient and accessible.
The benefits of online therapy are that it is easily accessible because you don’t have to drive to my physical office. You can turn on your computer with online therapy, and there we are! It is also convenient because you can connect with me from the comfort of your home.
Online therapy offers privacy because no one sees you coming in or out of a therapist’s office. There is no problem with this, but if you like and need more privacy, this is possible with telehealth. The downside is that we depend on a strong Internet connection for therapy to be effective.
If you still want to see me in person after reading this, the good news is we can do that. My physical office is in Pasadena, CA. Please let me know during our phone conversation or when you reach out to me what type of therapy you prefer; online or in-person.
Let’s do it! Contact me, and we will get to work!
